TOPIC: The Lost Symbol

Discussion of Dan Brown's new book The Lost Symbol and its relationship to the noetics sciences research as lead by Marilyn Schlitz President/CEO of the Institute of Noetic Sciences. The noetic sciences as a multidisciplinary approach seeks to understand the role that consciousness plays in the physical world, and how understanding consciousness can lead to creative new solutions to age old problems. Through years of research the noetic sciences have gained greater acceptance as a field of study that fosters an understanding of intuition, breakthrough insights and inner knowing as expressed through reason and logic. Our discussion will also include the use of symbols in interpreting intuitive insights and heightened states of awareness. Dan Brown's book also raises awareness of the historic use of symbolic references to states of consciousness in architectural structures, decorative features and artwork found in numerous buildings throughout our nation's capital.
